Chicago is known to many as the Windy City, but for Lance McCullers Jr., it marks the place where his career took a painful turn four years ago.
In 2021, McCullers pitched in the American League Division Series against the White Sox. After a strong Game 1 win, he followed it up by throwing four innings in Game 4, allowing just one run before handing the ball to the bullpen. That outing, however, sparked an injury that would alter his life physically, mentally and spiritually for years to come.
